The trees and plants are getting prepared for winter. Lightening the load of leaves to make room for buds that will bloom in the spring.
I am kind of doing the same thing. Packing up art that will go to Arizona for winter and spring. Preparing work for spring shows on the east coast. You never know what work will get into what shows but you must decide and hold those works aside. These works lay dormant waiting to awaken - well be hung when the time comes.
There are years when not a lot gets into juried shows and then there are the years when everything gets in plus you become featured artist. Not that this is a bad thing but it does keep you on your toes and working.
As I clean up the framing studio, ship off work here and there. It has a nice feeling of accomplishment. Now to get through the holidays and back in my studio to paint.
