A Day For The Elephants

It is World Elephant Day, a day to give some love their way. As we all know the elephant, other wild animals from Africa and other countries are in decline. Today there are laws in place to help protect these wild creatures but they are always in need of review and revising. Currently there is one from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that you can comment on before September 28th, 2015. Here is the link for more information and if you wish to comment. Warning, as with most government forms it is long. http://www.regulations.gov/#!documentDetail;D=FWS-HQ-IA-2013-0091-0001

There are lots of ways to help the orphan elephants, one is to foster one of them. Here is a link to David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust programs. https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/asp/fostering.asp

Many artists donate works or money from the sale of a work to help wildlife remain wild. I have been one of those artist. We all have causes that are near and dear to our hearts. I have volunteered, donated to many different causes over the years. My belief is we are all connected and we need to take care of each other, be it two legs, four legs or more.

Here are a few of my elephant works and you know there will be more to come. If you are interested in purchasing any of these works please email me and 50% of the sale will be donated to David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. lhp5536@aol.com
