No Fooling Around

All Fool's Day - April 1st - well there will be no fooling around for me today. The painting I have been having a battle with seems to be winning. Hoping to finish it today and by continuing to work on it,  I won't be the fool!

April Fools Day has been around almost before time...well at least as far back as the change from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. Apparently, people were confused as to when to celebrate the New Year and thought to be fools. There are references to mythology and Pluto kidnapping the goddess of grain & harvest. And fish come in to play, in many accounts.

Most appropriate for this year is renewal festival. A celebration of the end of winter and the beginning of spring. According to tradition all joking must be stopped at noon on All Fools Day!

It is a strange day - so enjoy it - celebrate spring and all her glory!
