Saturday Shows

It is the beginning of high season in AZ - which means, lots of art shows. Tonight is the opening reception at the AZ Arts Alliance Gallery, just off Indian Bend & Pima, in the Pavilions at Talking Stick.  It is tucked in a shopping center between a Sports Authority and a Hobby Lobby. This whole center is on Indian Reservation land, why does that matter? It saves you tax fees about 7% savings. And with the holiday shopping every little bit helps.

The gallery is open 7 days a week during the holidays from 11 - 7. The reception tonight will be from 6-9. Many of the artists will be there to talk about their work. There are lots of small items in the gift shop and many small works throughout the gallery. There is a little something for everyone, sculptures, large paintings, small ones, coffee mugs, pottery, cards, and ever some hand made books! So, if you are still in need of a holiday gift come on by or maybe pick up  a little something for yourself.

Along with the opening tonight, the Desert Botanical Gardens is open during the day for the Chilhuly show and then at night for luminaries event. The Zoo has it's Zoo-Lights going on and downtown Phoenix there is a Art Festival happening.

If you need to escape from all the holiday hub-bub you can always go for a walk, hike or bike ride. There was a bit of a cold front last week but it is back to being a nice normal winter here in AZ, low 70's by this afternoon and blue skies.
