Leaping Lizards

Lots going on this week, lots of wildlife passing by too. The coyotes have been around, yesterday the road runner was in the back yard, the peach faced love birds have been in the neighborhood and of course the great horned owl.

We have had a few different lizards in the yard and on the walls. Our cat Whisper was trying to figure out how that lizard was able to walk across the wall. It was a pretty good sized desert spiny lizard. We have had smaller "sand" lizard, they apparently vary a great deal in colors and patterns but are small guys about 3 or 4 inches.

I think the bright yellow and black bird we have seen is a Hooded Oriole which is generally found in Texas but we get lots of birds just passing through. Since we have been keeping the hummingbird feeders full the birds have found our little stop over on their travels. The hummingbirds are not thrilled but they deal.
